Welcome to the

Niles-Buchanan YMCA

The Niles-Buchanan YMCA strengthens the foundations of our community through well-being and fitness, camps, swim, sports and play, and other activities for people of all ages, incomes and abilities. We’re more than just a place to work out. At the Y, we help build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all with the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility at the heart of everything we do.

With a commitment to nurturing youth development, promoting healthy living, and fostering a sense of social responsibility, the Y ensures that every individual has access to the essentials needed to learn, grow and thrive.

The Greater Southwest Chapter of Credit Unions has awarded a $2,000 grant to the Niles-Buchanan YMCA.

The Chapter raises the funds for these grants at its annual summer golf outing. Recipients must be a 501c3 in the Chapter’s geographic area and their mission and goals must support the overall Credit Union Philosophy of "People Helping People". Grant recipients were determined by a panel of Chapter representatives.

The donation to the Niles-Buchanan YMCA was presented to Mark Weber, director of the organization, by Dave Van Strien, CEO of Greater Niles Community Federal Credit Union and treasurer of the Greater Southwest Chapter of Credit Unions at his credit union’s main office in Niles on February 13. Also present were Kent Figy and Jose Ontiveros, both from Honor Credit Union. The donation will go to support youth programming at the YMCA.

The Greater Southwest Chapter of Credit Unions is pleased to support an organization that is such a vital part of the community, and even more pleased to contribute to the youth programming that helps kids grow up to be confident and make smarter life choices,” said Van Strien.
