YMCA THANKSGIVING RUN IS BACK FOR 2014!

The Niles-Buchanan YMCA and Chemical Bank invite you to participate in our annual Thanksgiving Day Run on Thursday, November 27th.

You, your family and friends are invited to participate in one of our four great races. Our 10K/5K races, 5K Walk and 1 mile fun run/walk are open to you and the entire family.

Add a whole infield of entertainment and you have a Thanksgiving tradition that appeals to every generation while raising money for a critical social service in our community.

FREE ESTATE PLANNING SEMINAR AT THE Y

The community is invited to attend our FREE Estate Planning Seminar. You will learn the differences between Wills and Trusts and the benefits of having a properly drafted estate plan.

Our Y is offering an opportunity for guidance to better health. It's a 12 week nutrition and exercise program called "Get Healthy-Get Fit". More specifically it involves weekly group meetings with a dietician and fitness guidance with one of our Personal Trainers. Participant strive to achieve a higher level of wellness.

SIGN-UP FOR ADULT VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE

Stay in shape with a sport the Y invented, volleyball. If you are 16 years of age or older join us for our 6 on 6 competitive and recreation co-ed adult indoor volleyball leagues. Rosters, individual players, and team fees must be turned in to the Niles-Buchanan YMCA by the team registration deadline.

MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETIC INTEGRITY

Middle school students grades 5-8 can learn to train safely and effectively for sports and strength. Join us at the Niles-Buchanan YMCA for a FREE CLINIC on Wednesday, June 25 1:00pm-2:30pm. We'll also be offering a 6 week course on Wednesdays starting July 9 - August 13.

HEALTH & WELLNESS SUMMIT


The Four Flags Area Chamber of Commerce invites you to participate in this new event showcasing area fitness, health, beauty, nutrition, and wellness options available in our community. Festivities include free health screenings, blood drive, fitness demonstrations, activities for the kids, healthy food options, ribbon cutting for the new fitness equipment at Riverfront Park, trail tours, and fun for the whole family.

April is National Cancer Control Month and the Niles-Buchanan YMCA will be hosting the Cancer Awareness Resources Education (CARE) Fair on Thursday, April 10th from 2:00-6:00 pm. Attend this free community event to learn what you can do to help prevent cancer. During this educational fair, healthcare professionals and community partners will share information, answer questions, and engage participants in learning activities.

TAKE THE NILES WALK & ROLL SURVEY

The Southwest Michigan Planning Commission (SWMPC) is offering a survey called the Niles-Buchanan-Cass Area Transportation Study (NATS) Walk and Roll Survey for 2014.

The survey aims to identify locations that need better infrastructure for pedestrians and bicyclists, and develop a priority list of locations for future projects. The data will be incorporated into the NATS 2013-2040 Long Range Plan in order to address the needs of all users of the transportation system. Read more about the study.
